W10 Bordeaux Quay

A lively space for music, food and entertainment.
The Opportunity
There is a fantastic opportunity for a new commercial mooring in this busy part of the harbour, known for its evening and night-time economy. Located opposite the Arnolfini close to the Amphitheatre.

Technical information
- Size: 25m x 5m for one mooring.
- Lease Length: Temporary commercial moorings up to September 2028 (pending development of the adjacent site).
- Vessel requirements: High quay walls so low freeboard vessels not appropriate. 1.5m step down is required. No floating installation/vessel shall be constructed in a manner that renderers it not readily moveable should the need arise. Where the location lies upstream of fixed bridges or narrow sections of the harbour, the dimensions should not prevent movement downstream through constraints. Floating installations/vessels should either be capable of self-propulsion or constructed in such a way that facilitates towage when necessary. This is to respond to any future requests from the Harbour Master for the vessel to be temporarily relocated and to allow transit through the harbour to areas where repair, maintenance and survey works can be carried out.
- Access: Directly from the quay wall; The site is a 5 minute walk to The Centre where many buses stop and 15 minute walk to Temple Meads Station. Closest public parking is Millennium Square car park and the nearest vehicle access point for loading is Canon’s Way.
- Power & Utilities: See Resources section.
Current and past uses
- This area of waterspace is currently vacant, tucked away behind visitor moorings.
The wider area
- The new owners of Canon’s House (formerly Lloyds Bank HQ building) plan to transform this currently vacant landmark into ‘Bristol’s leading mixed-use building’.
- As outlined in the Harbour Place Shaping Strategy there is aspiration to create a cross-harbour ferry route between M-Shed and The Amphitheatre, as well as a tree-lined waterside walkway around the perimeter of the amphitheatre with enhanced seating near the harbour edge.
